Avon Hall, home of Mr. and

Mrs. William M. Carrigan in Washington was the background the night of July 4th for an unusual luminari display, covering the front grounds and featuring a huge star which attracted the admiring attention of many local people and visitors to the county. This was in addition to the setting off of spectacular fireworks for a gala Independence Day celebration.
