Fireman's Carnival and Parade
Come and have fun at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department’s carnival and parade Wednesday, July 28 through Saturday, July 31. Wednesday is kids night and ride from 7-10 for $6 and from Thursday until Saturday ride from 7-10 p.m. for $7. On Saturday night prizes will be awarded and include a 1993 Ford, registered Black Angus, freshley bred and with calf at side, dinner tickets to The Inn and Four and Twenty Blackbird, Redskin Season tickets, homemade quilt and afghan, hand painted Rappahannock “Limited Edition” picture and many other items.
Program at The Theater
The public is invited to an evening of song, art, poetrv and information entitled “Exploring The Gift and Future of Clean Waters” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 17 in the Theater of Washington.
The gathering is sponsored by Middle Street Gallery in coryunction with its July show “Exceptional Waters: Honoring the Rappahannock River.” The exhibition and evening program are designed to encourage dialogue about Tier III legislation. An artists’ reception will be held at the Gallery after the program.
Reading Program Continues
Underwater adventure, mystery, magic, and fun are all a part of this summer’s reading program at the Rappahannock County Library. Last week, Kevin the Magician mystified the “Peer Amid Books... Read” participants.
At 10 a.m. on July 21 “Dancing with Dolphins” featuring underwater slides and a video of humans swimming with ocean free Spotted Dolphins in the tropical wraters of the Bahamas will be presented by June Hughes (aka Sananjaleen) author of “The Dolphin Ones.” Don’t be left out of the excitement and fun of these wreekly free programs at the library. Dwyer Family Reunion
The third annual Dwyer family reunion will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 17 at the Washington fire hall. “Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and enjoy the day,” said a spokesperson.
