Mr. McCarthy said it would be sometime next year before the county switches over to the E-911 system. People will have one year to switch to the new addresses.
On the issue of the names of the roads, naming the roads in Old Hollow caused the most confusion. Old Hollow Road will be the name of Route 612-from U.S. 211 to Route 653. This includes a sharp left turn at a bridge. Route 612 from Route 653 to the end will be named Hull School Road. Route 600 from where Route 612 turns left to the end of the road will be Swindlers Hollow Road. Route 653 will be Sycamore Ridge Road.
The supervisors accepted Mr. Estes’s suggestion in resolving the various suggestions for roads in that area. They also accepted Mr. Estes suggestion for naming Route 600 from Route 681 to Route 1001 Woodward Road instead of Jenkins Hollow Road. Mr. Estes said Jimmy Woodward was one of the earliest settlers in the area.
At Mr. Estes’s suggestion the supervisors also agreed to name Route 681 from Route 231 to the end Rolling Road instead of Boot HollowRoad. Mr. Estes said tobacco in barAmerican
