Hampton District representative Bryant Lee was reluctant to make the position permanent. “The biggest portion on the policies will be done by a certain point. I hate to see us spend the money when we don’t have a lot of money.”
“When you take that tour, you’ll understand,” Mrs. Thornton said, referring to a tour of safety problems uncovered by a voluntary audit of safety at the elementary’ school.
Board Chairman Beverly Massie said, “I understand Mr. Lee’s concern. I have concerns like that too, but after going through the building and knowing what the government is doing...There is a liability issue of serving on any board. When we are liable for what we do and what we
