Wakefield Country Day School at Huntly was the scene of bustling activity and stiff competition as students vied for top honors in the school’s annual science fair.
Judges awarded first, second and third place prizes to projects from each grade of the lower school, which includes pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Upper school awards were given in the categories of biology, chemistry, environment, physics, technology and miscellaneous. “Best in show” awards were also given in both lower and upper schools with winners receiving $50 savings bonds.
Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first and second grades participated with group entries. First prize was awarded to the kindergarten project which used the acid in lemons and table salt to clean the tarnish from pennies. Pre-kindergarten took second place with an entry using lemons to make invisible ink, and third prize went to the second grade
