“If you understand that you are a part of the web of life, then you do not want to destroy it so easily,” said Dr. David Snyder. Dr. Snyder planted the seed for the ideas being carried out by the two artists-inresidence in the public school system this year, Laurie Marshall and Sharon Wyrrick.
Ms. Marshall is an artist, educator, and long-time resident of Rappahannock County. She is working with 200 fifth, sixth and seventh grade science students at Rappahannock County Elementary School to create a 16 foot by 8 foot portable mural entitled “The Web of Life”.
The mural will be comprised of three layers. The first layer is a painting of our galaxy, The Milky Way.
