drive, which brings the bloodmobile to the county sponsored by the Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers as a community service project.
“She works at the bloodmobile and helps a lot with publicity and coordination,” said Rappahannock County Extension Agent Helen Smith. Ms. Davis also serves as Scholarship Chairman for the Extension Homemakers, which presents an annual scholarship to a graduating senior at RCHS. She is also on the Extension Service Advisory Board.
“Ms. Davis also helps a lot with Extension Homemaker educational programs,” said Ms. Smith.
“She does a lot of behind the scenes work in the community,” said Mrs. Smith. “She usually helps cook breakfast at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department fundraisers,” she added.
“Marie is always a kind and caring person. She volunteers and helps with a lot of projects. She really cares about people in the community,” said Ms. Smith,
Co-worker Nancy Reeve, of the Department of Social Services, says of Ms. Davis. “Marie has a heart as big as all outdoors. She will always try to figure out a way to help someone solve their problem. This is not just in her job; she will help anyone...She does not restrict her job to just office managerial duties,” said Ms. Reeve.
