The Amissville Homemakers Club monthly meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3 at Amissville Baptist. Helen Smith will discuss “Food Labeling.” Public is invited.
Special thanks to Dorothy Hacklev and Nancy Nicholas for their efforts begun many, many years ago in assembling food and fruit baskets for area residents. For the late couple of years Janet Hacklev Makela has joined them in their project. I understand they assembled 14 food baskets and 40 fruit baskets. Twentyfour poinsettas were also distributed.
Funding for the project is provided by the Ruritan Club, Amissville Baptist, Bethel Baptist, United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women. This year the project was expanded to include five special recognition cards in which money was donated “In Memory of' and “In Honor of’ loved ones. We hope this will be greatly expanded next year.
Thanks to the following for distribution of the baskets ttnd flowers: Jerry Curtis, Charlie Priest, Charlie and Gloria Mills, Ed and Gilbert Lawrence, Connie Bowers, Graham Hackley, Rev. Tom Everett and Jerome Mallory. We apologize if anyone was inadvertently omitted.
Congratulations to Michael Cobb
