The RCHS basketball teams defeated Luray for the second time within the last week, ending December’s play on a good note.
The junior varsity creamed the Luray team, 60 to 19. Their record so far this season is 4-2. Coach Gary Leake said, “They have gradually improved each time they’ve played. They learn from their mistakes and correct them in the next game.”
Ten junior varsity players were in the scoring column for this game. Jon Butler scored 15, Mark Jenkins had 10, and Jason Carter had eight, which was his best game yet. “Their strength is their defense. They are a good group of kids and they work hard,” said Coach Leake.
The varsity Panthers won 40-35,
