Tenth District Congressman Frank Wolf sent out a press release in early December noting that fund-1 ing for the National Park Service for the current fiscal year is up $90 million over fiscal 1993 levels.

Rep. Wolf said this should translate into a signicant increase for the Shenandoah National Park, but actual figures won’t be available until February.

J.W. Wade, superintendent of the Shenandoah National Park, agreed that he is expecting a sizeable increase that should lead to an increase in interpretive programs offered by park rangers, but he said there are also requirements for the money that may mean less money is available than needed to restore programs to the level they were before funding was cut.
