Mr. and Mrs. Waller took over the Ben Venue Market in June, 1992. They bought the business from the Gilbert family, but lease the property from Louise and Thomas Eastham. They have increased the deli portion of the business, and Mr. Waller says, “That is what put this store on the map.”

It was a huge expense, but the Wallers have just put in two gas pumps. This project took five weeks to complete instead of the usual two. “We hit solid rock, and some springs,” said Mr. Waller. That meant that dynamite was needed, and a sump pump was installed to take care of the springs. “We have very competitive gas prices, and we hope to keep the prices way down,” said Mrs. Waller.
