He said at one point r nday night crews were replacing lines only to have them come down again a half hour later. The company pulled crew members off when it became foggy Friday night he said.
“I am pleased with my people,” he said. “They are dedicated employees. Most of our customers were patient and understanding.” He said the company thought everybody had power back Saturday night, but dis: covered later that a few homes in Jenkins Hollow still did not have power.
Mr. Sauffley noted that the problems this past weekend came a week after the bitterly cold week when the company was concerned that it might not have enough power to meet demand. “It’s been two weeks of very trying times,” he said.
Two additional days were lost from school last week, Thursday and Friday. Superintendent David Gangel said the plan is still to make up 10 days of the 14 missed so far.
