BrentsviUe beat RCHS Monday 72-43. “BrentsviUe is the number nine team in Virginia. They have five players 6’5‘ or taUer with very quick guards,” said Coach Leake. “We had a slowdown game plan, and the plan worked for the first quarter. In the second quarter we were down by six. We feU apart. We were to play the same game plan, but it didn’t work that way. Everything that worked for us in the first quarter worked against us in the second quarter,” he added.
Coach Leake said, “In the second quarter our players lost focus of the game plan. We should have stuck with it, but we did not. Then it was mentally tough to regroup.”
The basketball teams have a very tough schedule coming up. They will be playing eight games and holding six practices in the next 14 days. They’ll be playing Strasburg at home Friday, at Clarke Saturday, at home against StonewaU Jackson Tuesday, and at Manassas Park Wednesday. Games begin at 6 p.m.
The Junior Panthers had a home game against Strasburg scheduled for Tuesday, a game at Strasburg on Wednesday, and a home game against Stonewall Jackson on Monday, which will be their last game of the season. Games begin at 4 p.m.
