Col. Carl R. Baker, State Police Superintendent, cautioned motorist about leaving motor vehicles or trailers unattended on or adjacent to any roadway where they may constitute a hazard for other motorists.
“Law enforcement officers generally understand and sympathize with motorists whose vehicles become disabled when traveling,” he said, “however, it is most important that disabled vehicles not create a hazard for other drivers.”
State law requires that any unattended or disabled vehicle that constitutes a hazard be moved as soon as possible and often this means having the vehicle towed to the nearest available storage facility.
