Previous albums were under other labels, and individual members of the group have been featured in more than 25 albums, Mr. Reisler said.
In Rappahannock, Mr. Reisler said he and his wife, story-teller and actress Julie Portman, who is the artistic director of Ki Theatre, found just the right rural community that offered the beauty they sought as well as access to a metropolitan area.
Over the years Trapezoid ebbed and flowed with various members coming and going. In the late ’80s the band actually disbanded for a brief time, until six-year band member Bob Read, who recently has gone with Bruce Hornsby, insisted the group be revived.
“We went through a period where we felt we had gone as far as we could go,” Mr. Reisler said. “Bobby, who is the best musician I have ever met, pointed out how much we had done over 13 years and that we just needed a new direction.”
Martha Sandefer joined the group after an audition in 1990.
