When vehicles are not claimed within a reasonable time, the registered owner is contacted by mail at the last address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
“We realize that towing some vehicles may inconvenience drivers and occupants,” Col. Baker said, “and trooper try to be as helpful as they can. Out most critical concerns, however, are keeping our roadways safe for all motorists and reducing the risk that abandoned vehicles will be vandalized.”
Persons who believe troopers have caused their vehicle to be towed should call the nearest State Police office and be prepared to provide the name of the vehicle’s owner and the license plate number.
