The Ki Theatre video workshop at Blackwater Homestead last week, home of Sid and Margaret Gottlieb, was a fun and worthwhile experience for 12 youngsters. Most of the participants were from counties surrounding Rappahannock.
Led by Rappahannock residents Sharon Wyrrick and Rob Sherwood, and Bill Stone, the workshop taught the students everything from use of the camera to editing. Although there was not sophisticated editing equipment available, it is possible to edit using two VCR’s, according to Ms. Wyrrick, and that is what they did.
Ms. Wyrrick said, “We had a really terrific group of kids. Everyone was tremendously focussed and enthusiastic about making video movies.” She said that even the kids who had been making videos at home told her that they had learned a lot of pointers about how to make things work in their movies.
