real old church where services are still held, heard gospel singing, visited the museum and other attractions. Lemonade was the drink of the day as we watched the vendors squeeze lemon and make it fresh.
Monday morning all our thoughts were for homeward bound and that’s what we did reach home Monday night.
The driving was made easier by the Frazier brothers taking turns and we won’t say we didn’t get tired but enjoyable time as our Lord blessed with safe journeying all the way. Yes “Welcome To Virginia” sign was appreciated.
Down Salem way we’d like to send condolences to the John Benensen family upon Mr. Benensen’s passing on Friday and our prayers are especially with his son Matt who is a member of the Sunday School at Black Oak Regular Baptist Church.
Another church item Rev. Jack Knapp counselor for the Independent Baptists of Virginia, General Assembly was guest speaker for morning services and taught adult Sunday School on Sunday at Black Oak and with the pastor and congregation ejoyed a sumputious fellowship dinner before he and Mrs. Knapp returned to Richmond Sunday afternoon.
Revival services which are in progress this week at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church will continue through Friday evening at 7:30 with Rev. Emerson Wiles as guest speaker.
Mrs. Clarence W. Jenkins and Ms. Martha Taylor visited her nephew Mr. Gene Sisk in Charlottesville Sunday. Mrs. Jenkins recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sisk in Orange.
For the family members of Mr. Haywood Rutherford we send our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Martha Knighting, daughter and Mr. Rutherford, brother down Castleton way and all others upon your great loss last week.
