Rappahannock sixth graders continued to do better than state average on the Literacy Passport Tests, but the percentage who passed all three parts of the test dropped this year, compared to last.
This year 73.6 percent passed all three tests compared to 82.6 percent last year. Statewide 70.4 percent passed all three tests in sixth grade.
The most dramatic drop was in the reading test.
Students are required to pass all three sections of the test to advance to ninth grade. Students who don’t pass can repeat the test. Rappahannock continues to have students in seventh, eighth and higher grades who have not passed all
