to a 14-7 victory. Alexander scattered eleven hits and struck out seven as he won for the fourth time this season. Alexander shut out New Market through five innings while the Monarchs’ offense was able to build him a comfortable, eleven run lead.

Offensively the Monarchs were led by William Parker who had five singles, two runs batted in and two runs scored. The Monarchs jumped out with five runs in the third inning. Vincent Aylor and David Clanagan walked setting the table for Parker who singled Aylor in. After two more walks, Timmy Clanagan doubled in three runs.

The following inning, the Monarchs got six runs on singles by Vincent Aylor, William Parker, Neils Aylor, Bob Howard, Festus Clanagan and Thomas Jones.

The Monarchs open the finals at Edinburg this Saturday at 2 p.m. The second game of the series will be at Rappahannock County High School on Sundlay at 2 p.m.
