To the Editor:
I would like to invite your readers to share their extra garden vegetables and fruits with the poor by participating in the Harvest Sunday Project starting this Sunday, August 7.
Every Sunday morning in August, Trinity Episcopal Church will be the collection site for garden produce from Rappahannock County. On that same Sunday it will be delivered by volunteers to a church in the Anacostia section of Washington, D.C.
People who have participated in this project over the past few years have found it to be a wonderful way to put their extra zucchini, tomatoes and other vegetables to good use.
Rappahannock neighbors who wish to participate in this community-wide activity are asked to deliver their produce to the Trinity' Church Parish Hall no later than 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Or they may drop it off at my home on Saturday.
