Although they praised some of the faculty for their support of the athletic program, there are many teachers who never attend games. “When I played in high school there would be 10 to 15 teachers in the stands,” Mr. Leake said. ‘The kids would perform better in the classroom. /
“We stress academics as coaches,” Mr. Leake said. ‘Tve never had a basketball player who has not graduated.”
Mrs. Leake noted that three or four of her girls have been class valedictorians or salutatorians.
