Some fellowships will be less than $5,000. Work produced under a Fellowship remains the property of the artist. Fellowship recipients may be invited to participate in a group exhibition in 1995.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of professionals in the visual arts field. Results will be announced around December 30, 1994. All applications must be received in the Commission office no later than 5 p.m., October 3, 1994. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered and will be returned with a brief explanation. Applicants should carefully read all application materials and instructions before applying. The Virginia Commission for the Arts is the state agency that supports the arts through funding from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Commission distributes grant awards to artists, arts and other not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, educators and local governments, and provides technical assistance in arts management.
