She was the wife of the late Gaither T. North.
Surviving are two sisters, Eliza A. Fosnight of Front Royal and Anna A. Powers of Waterlick.

Richard E. Hitt
Richard Edward Hitt, 61, of Richards ville, formerly of Amissville, died on Sunday, July 31 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
The son of Mrs. Nettie Smith Hitt of Charlottesville and the late John Hitt, he was a native of Rappahannock County. ,
Besides his mother, he is survived by four sons, Gary Oneal Hitt of Amissville, Richard Hitt of Culpeper, John Hitt and Jason Hitt, both of Rixeyville; three daughters, Myra Settle of Culpeper, Penny Hitt and April Hitt, both of Richardsville; eight grandchildren and a brother, Elmer Hitt of Culpeper.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday at Forest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Viewtown with
