He made the motion to recommend approval of the application providing Mr. Dove provides screening of six-foot pine trees on six-foot centers on the property lines joining Ms. Massie and Mrs. Cahill. The planners agreed and also required the hours for operating the sawing and debarking equipment be limited to those Mr. Dove said he works with no operation of that equipment on weekends. The motion was approved 6 to 0 with Mr. Massie abstaining.
Dr. Krebser’s site plaft was the first item on the agenda. He said he was taking the handicapped parking place and road in back of the building out of the plan, but if it is necessary, he said he would be back with a new site plan to include it.
He provided pictures of the parking lot at Four and Twenty Blackbirds, which he said John and Peggy Ralph look at every day. The Ralphs had objected to any parking in back of the building.
Piedmont District representative Tom Junk said the issue would come up again. “It’s not reasonable to put 1 something in village commercial that can’t have back access,” he said.
With no provision at this time for parking in the back, Dr. Krebser’s site plan was unanimously approved.
The planners also recommended approval for a special use permit for David and Marilyn Armor to operate a bed and breakfast at their Sharp Rock Farm. They said they would be using two accessory buildings. The carriage house would have one room with a sitting area and bath With a deck. A second cottage would have two bedrooms, with a kitchen, living room and deck. They said this could be used by a family with up to two children. There would be no rental rooms in the main house.
