A Gospel Sing will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Amissville Baptist Church. Pastor Everett invites everyone to attend.
A special Community Thanksgiv' ing Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 23 at the Amissville United Methodist Church.
Guest speaker is expected to be Rev. Lanny Horton. There will also be a joint choir.
A special offering will be taken for “Friends to Mom.”
Those attending are encouraged to bring canned goods to benefit the community. Rev. Nancy White invites everyone to attend.
Hackley’s Store is now offering a variety of Christmas candy, including many old-fashioned types. My favorite is coconut-carmel drops.
Hackley’s will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to noon. They are also taking Christmas order for oysters and old hams.
Mayhugh’s Grocery will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Customers are welcome to stop by for refreshments.

We’re happy to report Mr. Wallace Stover came home last Thursday following heart surgery; also, Mrs. June Lewis is home following surgery on her other knee. Cindy Kelly has returned home from the hospital; however, Mr. Gilbert Dennis is still in Fauquier Hospital, room 175.
The W.C. Stuarts attended the wedding Saturday of Troy Smith to Katrina Maloney.
Belated birthday wishes to Lisa , Batcheler, she was 14 on Nov. 16.
Birthday wishes also to Theresa Mills on Nov. 26.
On this Thanksgiving Day, may we truly reflect upon our many blessings, I spent last Thanksgiving in the hospital following heart surgery, I am truly blessed.
