There will be a pep rally on Dec. 6 before the first game of the season, to be played at Luray. The first home game will be against Central oaDec. 9. ,
Coach Laura Conklin has chosen her players for the girls’ varsity volleyball team. They are Sarah Gentry, Becky Gallegos, Courtney Welch, Jessica Arnold, Susan Jewell, Johanna Tole, Sherry Lillard, Jaimee Hammit, Sondra Kludasch, Katja Valtonen, and Amy Joback. Sarah Gentry is the only sophomore on the team.
The junior varsity players are Angie Atkins, Emily Taylor, Janice Wilson, Katie Paratore, Nancy Gallegos, Amanda Brown, Fran Overdorf, and Courtney Mauro. They are coached by Liz Hollie, who teaches English.
Coach Conklin said that she has seen a lot of improvement in practice, and she wants her players to learn how to play more of an attack game.
The first game of the season will be at home against Brentsville on Dec. 5.
