Surviving are her husband, Ronald Lee Thompson Sr., of Front Royal; two sons, Ronald Lee Thompson Jr. of Front Royal and Brian August Thompson of Linden; one brother, James Thomas of Haymarket; one sister, Jayne Sisk of Sperry ville and one grandchild, Caitlin Nicole Thompson.
Arrangements are being handled by Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Gilbert Atkins
Gilbert Edward Atkins, Sr., 79, of Front Royal died Friday, Nov. 18 at Winchester Medical Center. /
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Maddox Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Young.
Interment followed at Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Atkins was bom March 23, 1915, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Marion and L^ura Belle Dodson Atkins.
He was a member of Rivermont Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1665 in Alexandria.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine J. Atkins; one son, Gilbert E. Atkins, Jr. of Front Royal; three daugthers, Polly A. Sloat and Jane L. Kenney, both of Front Royal and Phillis M. Finn of Trenton, N.J.; one brother, Raymond Atkins of Strasburg; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
Pallbearers were Donald Sloat, Jr., James Kenney, III, Gilbert E. Atkins, III, Richard Campbell, David W. Strickler and Edward (Skip) Atkins.
