All the shopper need do is find a firm that provides such a service and then place an order. The retailers — including department stores, specialty food shops, houseware outlets and catalogs — then do all the rest. They wrap the gift, box it for shipping and contract with a shipper to get it to the recipient’s front door before the holidays.
While retailers may charge a fee for this service, it often is worth the additional cost — especially when shipping delicate items.
