Paint. In the early 1800s, Paints were prominent among free-ranging herds in the West, and were very popular with Comanche Indians and cowboys. When Indians were forced onto reservations in the beginning of the 1900s, Paints began to disappear, but made a comeback beginning in the 1950s.
All of Ms. Lee’s Paints are black and white, and she said it is important to breed them right for the desired color. Hers range between 15.3 to 16 hands. She shows all of her horses, and usually enters a large Paint horse show in Lexington in
