Post Office Locations
Following a public hearing the supervisors voted to adopt changes to the zoning ordinance that would allow post offices with a special use permij in R-2 and rural residential zones but not allow them in agricultural zones*. This passed 4 to 1 with Mr. Massie voting “no.” He said he had to sup* port the Planning Commission which had voted to allow them in R-2 but not rural residential zones which allow one house per five acres', because those zones are further froth the center of the villages.
Col. Bingham said he was afraid if post offices were not allowed in rural residential zones, Amissville might lose its post office to Culpeper County. 2
In other action the Board of Supervisors:
• Approved a resolution recognizing November as Hospice Month.
• Heard a presentation by Briai^ Duncan of the Rappahannock* Rapidan Community Services Board on developing a more equal formula for support from the five localities served.
• Agreed to advertise to readopt 3 section of the County Code to enforce motor vehicle laws on subdivision roads in Blue Ridge Mountain Estates and on roads, streets and parking areas on property owned by the Rappahannock County School Board.
• Agreed to hold the January meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
• Reappointed Frank Warner to a new four-year term on the Library Board.
