support provided by United Way. Legal Aid is able to give assistance to clients fighting consumer rip-offs or who are being swallowed up by debt

And United Way funding makes it possible for us to help battered clients obtain civil orders to have their abusing spouses removed from the home, to get protection for themselves and their children, and to keep their families from becoming another crime statistic.

Our services are made possible in Rappahannock County in part through your support of the Piedmont United Way. Our clients need your help more than ever this year. Please give generously and thank you for your past support.

Lions Support

Youth

To the Editor:

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a meeting of The Rappahannock County Lion’s Club, and I came away truly moved by the generosity of the group.

I’d been, invited to speak on the volunteer needs of the public school system, and was lucky to speak prior to the presentations of two RCHS public speaking students, Andrew Van Horn and Jenny Bowen, hard acts to follow!

During the business portion of the meeting, the membership, without much discussion, voted unanimously to help fund the RCHS soccer field bleachers and mats for the county’s wrestling program.

It was just another way in which this organization constantly seeks to suppbrt our community and its youth, often without any public recognition. I just wanted to sav Thank You.
