Each summer a number of temporary employees are hired by Shenandoah National Park and other National Park Service areds to work as Park Rangers performing such duties as road and campground patrols and interpretation of area resources. Applications for these 1996 positions must be received between Sept. 1 and Jan. 15, 1996.
To qualify for these positions, a person must be at least 18 years old or be a high school graduate, be in good physical condition, and meet the educational or work experience requirements of the position for which he/she applies. Employees involved in law enforcement duties must be at least 21 years of age.
To obtain necessary application forms and answers to questions concerning employment with the National Park Service, applicants should contact either the Personnel Office at Shenandoah National Park, Route 4, Box 348, Luray, Va. 22835, (540) 999-3478, or any other Park Office. Completed application forms must be sent to National Park Service, Seasonal Employment Unit, P.O. Box 37127, Washington, D.C. 200137127. They must be postmarked no later than Jan. 15, 1996.
Shenandoah National Park also hires temporary forestry technicians, biological science technicians, visitor use assistants (fee collectors for entrance stations) and laborers to augment its permanent work force. The
