Honesty Lives
To the Editor:
I had an amazing thing happen to me. over the weekend. While we were shopping in the Apple Blossom Mall, I stopped at a store and was ready to pay for something when I looked in my purse and realized the S99 I had was gone. I was so upset! I started looking everywhere. I walked into Express and asked the cashier if any money had been turned in. She said yes. Someone had found $99 and turned it into the cashier, i’m so thankful to whoever turned in my money and to the cashier for being honest enough to give it back to me.
I think it’s great that there are still people honest enough to turn $99 without stealing any of it.
I’m telling this story to everyone I know so that it will have an impact on the next person who might find lost money. Maybe they will remember how happy they will make someone feel by trying to find the owner.
To whoever the finder is, thank you! Honesty lives!

To the Editor:
In response to your editorial in the Oct. 11 issue of the Rappahannock News entitled “Dumpsters,” which in part stated, “The county owns sufficiertt land at the elementary school and School Board site to locate such a facility if no other place can be found.”
It is true that the site is centrally located to serve the county; that is why the elementary school and the School Board were located there, thus, making the site a good place for future educational growth. In my opinion, more traffic on School House Road (Route 636) is not needed; it handles enough traffic now with school and sports activities. Dumpster activity would aggravate traffic, especially, since the north side of the road already has been zoned as a potential commercial site.
Projecting into the 21st century and taking into consideration the safety of elementary school students, another site in that general area should be proposed.
