Street Gallery. We had been studying classical architecture and wanted to explore any real life examples we could find.
While in town, we happened upon the new home of the owners of the Inn, Mr. Lynch and Mr. O’Connor, and were admiring the classical style of this new home from the street. Reinhardt Lynch noticed our class and came to talk with us about the architecture of his house. We were so excited! Our class gained such invaluable information to add to our studies, not to mention the enjoyment we got from the tour!
We want to publically thank Mr. Lynch for his generosity and for his time in allowing us to tour his home. Mr. Lynch and Mr. O’Connor have shown tremendous commitment to our community. Thanks for supporting our Humanities class and RCHS!

Why Not?
To the Editor:
I am writing to try to get answer to a few questions that I have. We all know how important it is to “Buckle Up.” It is pressed on our children every day. It is also a Virginia State Law to wear your seat belt.
My son is 4 years old, he will be attending elementary school next fall. He currently attends The Child Care and Learning Center. Last year a Virginia State Trooper visited his class. He gave the children a key chain that said to “Buckle Up.” My son remembers that very vividly. He also told the children how important it is that they wear their seat belts.
This year the children are going to the elementary school so that the third graders can read to them. When he came home that afternoon I asked him what kind of stories he had heard that day. The first thing that he said was that the big school buses didn’t have seat belts. For days after this he asked me why he doesn’t have to wear a seat belt. Do you know that I could not think of an answer to tell him.
I called the Virginia State Police headquarters and 1 asked them why the buses don’t have seat belts. I was told that school buses are excempt under that law. I can’t believe that because you would think that they would want to protect our children.
I don’t understand why it is that I will get a ticket if I don’t have my son in a seat belt, I drive better than some of the buses around here. Some of the buses around here go way over the speed limit. Everyone knows the deer around the road are very bad early in the morning. I was told that the seats have a lot more padding in them. If the bus hits a deer or another car that padding is not going to keep a five year old child from! flying around the bus. Any age child at that matter.
