Washington” will sponsor a bake sale benefiting the Child Care and Learning Center at Santa’s Bake Shop in the Town Hall, a converted Presbyterian church dating from 1858.

A special treat of the celebration will be an entire colonial menu at the Country Cafe, featuring Brunswick Stew and Sally Lund bread. The Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor its annual Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. that evening, serving turkey and ham.

The Theatre at Little Washington will present the Northern Virginia Academy of Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m.

Area Christmas tree farms offer visitors a brisk “cut your own” walk through acres of fir, pine and spruce. Pre-cut trees and greens will also be available.

The festivities end at 9 p.m. with community caroling around a roaring bonfire, weather permitting.

Parking and admission to the Colonial Christmas weekend festivities are free to the public.
