The legendary poet, songwriter and raconteur, Charles John Quarto, will be performing with Paul Reisler and Martha Sandefer of Trapezoid and Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen, at the Prism in Charlottesville at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17th.
Mr. Quarto, Mr. Gillette and Mr. Reisler will also present their workshop, “Poetic Songwriting, Creativity and Inspiration” at the Prism at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The song writing workshop was originally scheduled to be held at Ki Theatre in Washington but was moved to Charlottesville to accommodate a larger crowd.
Mr. Quarto is a poet, songwriter, master teacher, spiritual channel, healer and one of the most entertaining individuals to ever touch down on this planet. His songs have been recorded by The Band, Willie Nelson, Cher, Waylon .Jennings, Jennifer Warnes, Don Williams and a host of others. Some of his best known songs include; “Geronimo’s Cadillac,” “Mama Know The Highway,” and “Grapes on the Vine.” Joni Mitchell calls him, “My mental twin.” Graham Nash says he’s “Absolutely brilliant and must be heard.” He’s performed on the David Frost Show and in the Hollywood Bowl. His performances are completely unique — a brilliant combination of poetry, humor and social commentary.
