As a duo, Paul Reisler and Martha Sandefer focus on their original songs blended together with Paul’s original guitar and hammered dulcimer instrumental compositions. The duo’s emphasis on story and song is firmly rooted in the long innovative tradition of Trapezoid. And Trapezoid has a long 20 year history of innovation. Sing Out Magazine recently called Trapezoid “one of America’s most creative .ensembles.”
Trapezoid’s two new albums, “Remembered Ways” and “Long Time Down This Road” were recently released on Azure Records. In addition to writing all of the music the duo performs, Mr. Reisler plays the guitar, hammered dulcimer, bass and doumbec. Martha Sandefer performs on guitar, bass and vocals.
Steve Gillette’s songs have been sung by legions of major artists including Garth Brooks, John Denver, Waylon Jennings, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, Linda Ronstadt, Jerry Jeff Walker and Don Williams. He has recorded four albums of his music and is the author of Songwriting and the Creative Process which has just been published by Sing Out Publications. He’ll be performing in the concert with Cindy Mangsen.
