The family that plays together, stays together.
For the Hickson family of Marshall, a tight-knit, single-parent household with eight children, athletics is part of the glue that keeps them •united.
While parents Sharon Hickson and her husband are separated (The children's father lives in Front Royal.), the five girls and three boys have developed strong bonds by playing multiple sports together at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly. - Kristin and Bridget Hickson, senior identical twin sisters, are standout student athletes in four sports. They are the third and fourth girls in the family.
All the children have attended WCDS where their mother is an academic dean and English teacher.
Older sisters Marie Pat and Elizabeth Hickson were excellent athletes as well; they graduated in 1995 and 1996, leaving Kristin and Bridget the next in line to shine among the 160 students now enrolled in the school.
