He and his wife, Achsah, were dedicated members of Trinity Episcopal Church while Achsah's sister, Mayes Campbell and her husband Curtis, who lived in the home next to them on Mount Salem Ave. were dedicated members of Washington Baptist Church. Jack had a very sincere interest in people and his Town.
1 am much indebted to all of these former friends, and neighbors of the Town who gave me and my family such a warm welcome when I returned here in 1945 to open a law office. They gave a young attorney advice and support for which I shall always be grateful.

To the Editor:
On Friday, Aug. 23, 1996, the Richmond Time-Dispatch published the results of the latest survey done on the topic of tobacco regulation. Fiftyfive percent of the adults surveyed said "the federal government should regulate tobacco as a drug because it. contains nicotine, which some scientists say can be addictive." In the same poll, 69 percent favored restrictions on advertising by tobacco firms "to help reduce smoking among teen-agers."
