A search and rescue was conducted on Route 614 in Gid Brown Hollow last Saturday evening.
Tommy Hartman, a hunter, did not return to his hunting party at the end of the evening, and other members of the party were alarmed and notified the Sheriffs Office. According to Sheriff Gary Settle, search and rescue teams were put together using five people from the Sheriffs Office, teams from the Washington and Sperryville fire and rescue squads, and State Troopers M.C. Woodard and W.A. Sumner.
After searching for just over two hours, the teams found Mr. Hartman in the woods and he was not hurt. He was on a four-wheeler which had gotten stuck, said Sheriff Settle, after he had taken a wrong turn. Because the night was rainy and foggy, it made it all the ■ more difficult for Mr. Hartman to find his way out of the woods. He told his rescuers that he was okay, but was
