nominated Nancy Reeve to se&e on the Social Services Board. They postponed appointments from Hampton District to the Planning Commission and three appointments to the Library Board as well as the Community Services Board representative.
Mrs. Sloane also thanked County Administrator John McCarthy for getting landowner permission to have VDOT clear out culverts in a low water bridge on the North Fork of the Thornton River that had been blocked up forcing water onto the road in heavy rains.
The board unanimously approved a Resolution of Appreciation for Paul Nichols that states in part: "Paul served since 1954 on the Rappahannock County School Board, with only a single four-year hiatus, watching all four of his children rise to adulthood as changes swept the county's education system while his unique rapport with children stayed as perhaps the only constant.",
Mr. McCarthy reported that it is not likely the Extension Agent for 4-H and Home Economics will be approved this fiscal year. He received permission to hire someone part time to work with the 4-H program using funds that would have gone to pay the agent.
Following an evening public hearing with no public comment the supervisors unanimously readopted the County Code.
