The American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and American Lung Associations are very concerned with the economic status of the Commonwealth, particularly with the problems facing Virginia's tobacco farmers and communities. These communities must be preserved. Sept. 24, through Sept. 26, these volunteer health organizations joined with other health care advocates and tobacco farming interests to discuss these issues and how .everyone can work together to ensure sustainable healthy communities. We will work hard with this cpmmunity to help reach a solution.
It is the hope of these organizations that- Attorney General Jim Gilmore syill revise his decision to represent the tobacco manufacturers and be guided by the wishes of the marjority of the citizens of the Commonwealth to restrict youth access to tobacco products.

After my log cabin came perilously close to burning down in Gid Brown Hollow on Thanksgiving night, I approached the volunteer firefighters from Washington and Sperryville who were packing up their trucks. They had worked hard extinguishing the chimney fire.
