Rappahannock Farmers Association (RFA) come up with concrete comments and submit them as a group.
Jennifer Alexander stated that everyone likes clean water, but that the farmers need specifics so that they can identify problems and take care of them.
Contacted later, John Bums, an * organic vegetable and berry farmer, said that he believes the ASA is a profarmer environmentally weak bill. He thinks the purpose is to protect the farmers from an even stronger control.
Jane Naramore, acting chairman of the RFA, said at the meeting that it is really important for local farmers to become involved and educated. She asked for everyone’s written com* rnents |o be„ ,.sent_ to her at the Rappahannock Farmers' Association,' - P.O. Box 576, Flint Hill, VA 22627. She added that the board of directors. will be meeting to discuss all of the! comments and vowed that something' would be done through the RFA.
She also invites people interested in joining RFA or finding out more about it to attend their next meeting at ' the Flint Hill Fire Hall on March 8.. The time has not yet been set, but will! be announced in a future edition of the Rappahannock News.
