A new organization was launched last Thursday which hopes to make a large difference in county public schools.
A board of directors took over the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation from a steering committee that had spent over a year in planning for the new organization.
The organization will try to increase community support for public education. Raising money for special projects at the schools is only part of the new organization's goal. Of even greater importance, according to organizers, is to get many more citizens involved in supporting the schools.
