His students rave about him. Peter White of Sperryville, who has been studying sculpture since the fifth grade, and whose dad was a very accomplished sculptor, said he thinks Mr. Flickinger is a first rate instructor. "He is the best, without exception," he said. In class earlier this week, said Mr. White, his instructor took ten minutes to explain the intricacies of the foot. Next week they'll work on the ear.
Roger Segalla, who is taking his first-ever sculpture class, thinks his teacher is great. "He has a nice gentle way but he is firm about his points," said Mr. Segalla.
