For those landowners that are considering planting several acres or more, the Department of Forestry recommends that a planting site examination be made. The department will schedule a field visit to the property to discuss suitable species, site preparation, spacing, and planting techniques. It is possible that the planting project may be eligible for cost-share assistance.
