the path of a 1981 Jeep pick driven by Shawn R. Harlan, 26, of Washington. Mr. Atkins's Ford was struck by the Jeep, and Mr. Atkins was charged with failing to yield the right of way. Each vehicle had $ 1,500 damage.
On Thursday evening around 9:10 p.m.. Trooper Knick investigated another accident. This one took place on U.S. 522, 1/4 mile south of Route 1001 in Sperryville. Lynn B. Mahan, 49, of Woodville, was charged with improper passing when she tried to pass a 1988 Ford pickup driven by Margaret L. Bright, 51, of Sperryville, as Ms. Bright slowed and began to make a left turn into a private driveway. Ms. Mahan, driving a 1993 Toyota pickup, struck Ms. Bright's vehicle, causing $1,500 damage. Ms. Mahan’s vehicle suffered $500 damage.
