The board and Mr. Shaffer were overwhelmed by the generosity of the Friends, seeing as that group had just provided funds for paving of the parking lot and furniture for the library. The board approved making a formal request and noted that their support and efforts are most appreciated.
It was also reported that the Rappahannock Lions Club and the Rappahannock Bank made contributions of $200 and $125 respectively to the Summer Reading Program which started June 30 at the library.
