The Rappahannock County School Board met last week for their year end payout meeting.
The good news is there is some money left over, which will be returned to the Board of Supervisors, and which the school board hopes they will then be able to apply for to make up the difference in cost for the roof replacement at the Rappahannock High School.
The roof project which will cost $184,000, also will have added costs for the contractor change orders of $5,000, for roof consultants of $5,000, for review of construction of $3,000, for the air conditioning relocation of $13,500, which brings the brand total to $210,500.
The supervisors have allocated $150,000. However, the board still needs $60,500.
The revenue funds from over appropriations totaled $40,380.44, which when subtracted from $60,500, leaves $20,119.56 needed for the roof repair. Those over appropriations funds came from the difference between total projected revenues, to be received by June 30, of $6,422,977.34 and a budget appropriation of $6,382,596.90.
The available balance under the appropriations summary is $117,666.79, less the return on restroom funds to the supervisors of $21,000, and less the June bills of $76,187.83 leaves $20,478.96.
